| The President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Shiekh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah has said that Asia is passing through a testing time and that sports is the best alternative to the chaos in the region. He said OCA would give all possible support to the Play for Peace project which is being organized by Vattar Media for the promotion of Peace through sports. The President gave these views during a visit by the chief executive of Vattar Media Mr. Nabeel Amin, who called on him at the Bayan Palace in Kuwait. The President was briefed about the 1st Asian Sports Gala in which 35 Asian countries with over 900 players would participate with the slogan Play for Peace, which was applauded by his excellency and the president said that OCA would give all possible support for this project as peace was the need of the hour in the region. The president also adviced his staff to work in close coordination for better organization and projection of the project. The President of OCA stressed for the need to provide better sports opportunities to the youth of Pakistan so that they can achive laurels for their country and project Pakistan's soft image. He was of the view that the Pakistani nation loved sports and had the talent to represent every sport in the world only if they were given adequate facilities. |
